I confess, I'm an ardent food lover and have been since the day I was born, though truth be told not always of the healthy kind. Up until a few years ago, if it was greasy, fried, battered, meaty, sugary, ridiculously coloured and/or destined to give you a heart attack, I was having it, without a second thought.
Until one day my body wasn't having it anymore and pulled the plug, and quite effectively too.
After falling very ill and struggling for many years to make my way back to health, I've finally learned to take care of myself by simply eating more natural, healthier foods and adjusting my lifestyle to allow my body to heal itself. The changes I've gone through these past years have been truly amazing and continue to baffle my (former) host of doctors.
While it is very much an ongoing process and I'm learning more every day, I have become so passionate about health and nutrition that it made me wonder whether I might be able to encourage and empower others to take charge of their own health as well. As a result I've started this journal to share some of my favourite recipes and insights and will be graduating soon as a Health, Nutrition and Lifestyle Consultant at the European Academy for Natural Healthcare.
I can imagine that the combination of this lifestyle with my career as a professional documentary filmmaker might seem a bit strange to some people, but it makes perfect sense to me and I simply couldn't be happier!
I feel so privileged to be able to spend my time being creative, traveling, meeting extraordinary people all over the world and sharing their inspirational stories with others. And maybe a part of my own life's story could inspire someone else to become a healthier, happier person too. How wonderful that would be! :)
